This is the website for Finest Hour, based in Omaha, NE.
Finest Hour was created in 1977 by Jeff Sauvageau and Greg Boulay. Since then, the band membership has evolved through dozens of line-ups. In the Fall of 2008 as part of a Creighton Prep class reunion, Jeff and Greg invited the original Finest Hour players who live across the country back to Omaha for a reunion gig. Biten once again by the "band bug", Jeff and Greg approached a number of local players to form the current line-up. The first gig with the current line-up was November 4, 2008. since then, Finest Hour has played about once per month, generally at The Ozone, but also at a variety of private performances most notably the Catholic Charities IrishFest. What started out as a great sax player in Matt Wallace evolved to a full blown, smokin' horn section called the "Broadband Horns" by late 2009.
The band members share a passion for music, but also have very busy lives. Thus, the number of performances is by design generally limited to 1 or 2 nights per month. This "rationing" allows us to maintain focus on non-band activites, but also assures our audiences that we view each and every night as a precisous opportunity to play the music we love.
We are available for private parties on a limited basis.
